PAC3 Board Executive Committee Structure and Proposed Basic Responsibilities
The structure of the Executive Committeeof the PAC3 Boardis as follows:
- Chairman/President (Ron Herberman)
- Vice Chairman (Ron Myers)
- Secretary/Treasurer (Fritz Bittenbender )
- Implementation Chair (Gary Leipheimer )
- Operations Chair (Aaron Bleznak )
(Ex-officio, non-voting)
- Executive Director (Kathy Stadler)
Working definitions of responsibilities for the above positions:
*NOTE that these are preliminary definitions, approved in concept by the Board. Detailed definitions of Executive Committee members’ roles and responsibilities will be outlined in the forthcoming PAC3 By-Laws.
1. Chairman
- Serves as an Officer of the Board.
- Sets meeting agendas.
- Presides over all Board meetings.
- Appoints PAC3 committees with concurrence of the Board.
- As the titular head of the Consortium, acts as the representative voice of the Consortium.
- Releases all official correspondence
2. Vice Chairman
- Serves as an Officer of the Board.
- In the absence of the Chairman, fulfills the duties of the Chairman.
- Serves as a resource and support to both the Implementation Chair and Operations Chair as needed.
- Supports and assists the Chairman with strategic planning and other responsibilities as requested by Chairman.
3. Secretary/Treasurer
- Serves as an Officer of the Board.
- Reviews and oversees the recording of minutes (recorded by the PAC3 Coordinating Office) of meetings of the Executive Committee, the Board, and the PAC3.
- Attests official PAC3 documents.
- Oversees the financial affairs of the PAC3.
- Reports to the Board on secretarial and/or financial issues or activities.
4. Implementation Chair
- Facilitates effective implementation of the goals and objectives of the PA Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan via the Plan Implementation Committee.
- Oversees the Continuum Committees; facilitates effective functioning and cross communication of Continuum Committees.
- Assures that the cross cutting issues of research, cancer information, disparities/access, and advocacy are addressed.
- Reports to the Board on implementation activities or issues.
5. Operations Chair
- Facilitates effective functioning and cross communication among the PAC3 Operational Committees via the Chairs of these committees.
- Works closely with the Implementation Chair to assure that Operational Committee activities intrinsic to the success of implementation are connected to Plan Implementation Committee activities.
- Reports to the Board on operational committee activities or issues.
